Thematically, "Window" is a far leap from Perfect Posture's debut single, "Red Onion."
Whereas the latter deals in tight phrasing and clear narrative, "Window" adopts a slower pace, and a sparser lyrical palette.
On the song, Budde paints a simple still-life of quiet depression.
Taking the lyrics on their own, "Window" comes off as resigned and world-weary.
However, the accompanying music is bubbling with life at every turn. As synths swirl and swell, it is hard to not catch a glimmer of hope amidst the murky water.
And if not hope, at least a little beauty.
