Preserve Records is a record-label + musical family tree started in 2018 by Chicago-based producer Patrick Budde.

The label's roots can be traced back to the formation of folk collective Friends of the Bog in early 2016, an era marked by unplugged living room rehearsals, clueless sound-checks, and the thrill of braving into uncharted territory with quality company.

As more and more songwriters found their way into band-member Patrick Budde's growing home studio, what would soon become Preserve Records was born.

Five years, two studios, and many songs later, we've figured a few things out. But, in more ways than not, the label feels the same as it did when it began - a feeling not unlike the joy of walking into a friend's house and being greeted with a song they've written, just for the moment.
